Phillip Justice, D.O., M.B.A.
Dr. Phillip Justice was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Roanoke, VA. He received his medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY in 2006. Dr. Justice completed an internship in internal medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA in 2008 and his residency in neurology at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH in 2011. He completed a neurophysiology fellowship with a focus in neuromuscular disorders and electromyography (EMG) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN in 2012. Additionally, Dr. Justice earned his M.B.A. from the University of North Alabama in 2018.
Dr. Justice worked for Tri-State Mountain Neurology in Johnson City, TN from 2012 to 2014, treating patients with chronic pain and various neurologic disorders. He worked for another pain management company from 2014 to 2016, where he treated chronic pain patients through the use of interventional and non-interventional methods, prior to opening Medstar Health Solutions in 2016. Dr. Justice firmly believes that a patient’s pain is most safely and effectively managed through the utilization of a multidisciplinary approach, and strives to incorporate this into his practice.
Dr. Justice is also passionate about caring for patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and volunteers as the Neurologist at the Gary E. Shealy Memorial ALS clinic at East Tennessee State University where he is an active member of the exceptional multidisciplinary team.
Dr. Justice is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, and the Tennessee Pain Society, and the Pain Society of the Carolinas. Dr. Justice currently resides in the Tri-Cities area, with his wife and two stepchildren.
Rona Justice, FNP-BC
Rona Justice was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1995, and her Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner in 2008, both from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN.
Rona’s nursing career has afforded her the opportunity to gain experience in multiple disciplines in the field of nursing (women’s health, gastroenterology, critical/cardiac care, post-operative recovery, pain management). These experiences have provided her with the necessary tools to effectively manage patients with chronic pain. Rona has worked in chronic pain management since 2009, and sincerely enjoys the challenge of managing patients with chronic pain.
Rona is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Tennessee Pain Society, and the Pain Society of the Carolinas. Rona currently resides in the Tri-Cities area, with her husband and her 2 children.
Tonya Ambler was raised in Cupertino, California until her family relocated to Farragut, TN in 1988. She went to Farragut High School and then received a softball scholarship to Carson Newman College and graduated with a BSN in 1998.
Tonya started working as a nurse on a medical-surgical floor for one year and then moved to surgery where she specialized in orthopedics and cardiovascular surgery. She returned to Carson Newman College in 2001 and graduated with her masters in nursing in 2006.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner Tonya has experience in primary care, orthopedic spine surgery, and chronic pain. She has worked with chronic pain patients since 2010 and finds it rewarding to help patients who live with chronic pain return to an active and productive lifestyle.
Tonya is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She resides in Knoxville, TN with her wife and son.
